AOL to offer refunds and halt ads after service delays
AOL will issue full refunds for under an hour of use and 50 percent refunds for under two hours. The company will streamline cancellations and pause much of its advertising in February while adding disclaimers if delays persist. Steve Case did not quote total costs, with analysts estimating 10 to 20 million in refunds, offset by reduced ad spend. Shares rose 5.7 percent to 37.25.

White House data system used to track donors in 1994
Internal documents show the Clinton White House created a large data base with federal funds to track as many as 350000 people including major donors campaign workers and White House visitors.
