Eastern Iowa Airport to spend 1.7 million on security upgrades
The Cedar Rapids Airport Commission on Monday approved about 1.7 million dollars in increased security funding for this year. Costs cover vehicle inspections staff, a fingerprinting machine and FBI checks plus luggage screening later this year. The project will be reimbursed by federal funds.

Cedar Rapids man arrested in record Kentucky drug bust
James Wall, 57, was stopped at an Interstate 65 weigh station near Franklin Kentucky and found with 26 kilos of cocaine and 600000 dollars in cash in three suitcases. Two handguns were also seized.
