Clinton odor concerns fade as complaints drop in 2000
Public nuisance inspector Mike Harmon notes a 44 percent decline in pollution hotline calls in Clinton during 2000 and a 57 percent fall in odor complaints from 291 in 1999 to 165 in 2000. City leaders trace improvements to enforcement, industry controls, and resident efforts, with odor issues dating back to the 1980s.
