World trade center could boost Iowa exports and jobs
A study for backers shows a Des Moines world trade center would lift total manufactured exports by 10 percent by year four and create about 18,900 jobs while returning the $45.41 million net investment within six to seven years. The plan calls for a $75 million center with a $30 million state contribution, plus $15.41 million in operating costs over five years.
