Hand washing appeals amid Cedar Rapids car wash boom
In Cedar Rapids some residents still favor hand washing as tunnel washes expand. Blue Lagoon Car Wash on Blairs Ferry Road offers self-serve bays and two automatic tunnels while owner Arends notes subscription services are hard to sustain due to capacity and variable monthly income. Johnny Boy's Car Wash on First Ave SE continues hand and automated services, drawing customers who fear paint damage from automatic washes.
