Grant funds arts program expansion at Johnson Elementary
Johnson Elementary in Cedar Rapids expands its magnet arts program with nearly 500000 in federal grant funds to implement the Reggio Emilia approach over three years. Principal Susan Lagos says arts enable creative expression and help low income students, with a budget committee guiding expenditures for a new art teacher, consultants, evaluators, and artist residencies.
