Lisbon Schools Closed for Flu Recovery Weekend

Lisbon schools are closed today due to a high rate of flu like symptoms. Superintendent Bob Torrence said about 25 percent of students were absent last Wednesday through Friday and the district is allowing a long weekend for recovery.

Festina Driver Killed in Parking Lot Crash

Gerald Schmitz 50 of Festina died early Sunday when his southbound car on Highway 150 lost control and struck a parked vehicle in a business parking lot triggering a second impact. No occupants were in the parked cars. Funeral services are pending in Calmar.

Manchester businessman renovates second story into home
