Bear sighting sparks concern as black bear wanders into Iowa timber
Lawrence notes the black bear likely wandered from Minnesota into northeast Iowa, drawn by search for food. Sightings since November include a Postville farmer spotting it in corn, foraging for grain, and inexplicable prints suggesting possible sow and cub. Wildlife officials urge caution and warn against shooting.
