Gypsy moth invasion grows in Iowa forests

Iowa faces a rising gypsy moth threat as 82 adult male moths were captured in 2009 rising to 2260 last year. The pests, with 300 tree hosts and few natural predators, threaten oaks and other hardwoods across the state. Authorities plan pheromones to curb the surge.
