Water breaches Pinicon Ridge Dam delaying Linn park project
High water on the Wapsipinicon River near Central City breached an earthen cofferdam behind the Pinicon Ridge Park dam under construction. Linn county conservation director Carl Hamilton estimated at least a two week delay while another dam is built and damage repaired. He noted the new dam, part of a $256,000 Linn County park development, is about 60 percent complete and had previously looked likely for a March completion ahead of the June 1 target.

Plan To Redraw Iowa Congressional Districts
Iowa lawmakers debate redrawing seven districts to achieve pop parity under a Supreme Court standard. Senator Riley outlines a plan shifting Clinton, Ida, Jefferson, Van Buren, Henry, Clarke, Ringgold, and other counties to bring district totals near the 393,943 average. The proposal aims to avoid court challenges and possible special sessions before the 1968 election.
