Airlift to Kansas City Post Office begins Monday
Cedar Rapids postal officials announce an airlift of mail to the Kansas City area on Ozark Air Lines flight 153 on a space available basis. Ordinary letters may miss the flight on busy days and 25 percent of mail is expected to miss the service unless a guaranteed air mail stamp is used.

Embezzler Geiger Plundered Bank for Four Decades
Mrs. Geiger controlled the books for 40 years at a bank and cashed checks for herself and others totaling 2 126 850 dollars. United Air Lines Gains 10.1 Percent in Cedar Rapids
United Air Lines reports 1960 gross business at the Cedar Rapids station up 10.1 percent from 1959. Data show 42,555 passengers boarded plus 6.8 percent, inbound passengers up 4.9 percent, outbound mail up 17.3 percent, inbound mail up 6.4 percent, outbound air express up 14.6 percent, inbound air express up 15.1 percent, air freight down 1.6 percent while inbound freight rose 18.6 percent. On Oct 30 1960 United replaced Convair equipment with 4 engine DC-6 and DC-7 aircraft. Cedar Rapids is served by 13 daily Mainliner flights.

Long Island youth given suspended sentence for fraud
Hugh P. Guido, 18, of Long Island New York, pled guilty to gross fraud before Judge Charles Penningroth. He used a falsified New York driver license and wrote a bogus $18.21 check at Killian's Lindale Plaza. Guido turned himself in at Linn County jail and repaid $54 in restitution.

Man Tries to Hang Self in City Jail
A 28 year old Raymond Kruger of the Airport trailer court attempted suicide in his city jail cell within an hour of being sentenced for resisting arrest. He was hospitalized in Cedar Rapids in serious condition and later admitted to the psychopathic ward after police restrained him. Another man, Richard English, pled innocent to interfering with an officer and was freed on bond.

Two Boys Injured in Skating Accidents at Roosevelt Rink
