Schneider Faces Trial For Murder In Iowa City
Johnson County Atty. Ralph Neuzil plans to press a murder charge against 18 year old Robert Joseph Schneider of rural Cosgrove for the Nov. 10 murder of Edward Kriz in Iowa City. A nine woman, three man jury found Schneider not guilty of armed robbery after deliberating from Thursday to Friday. The trial included Schneider admitting writing a note used in the Oct. 6 Shannon's supper club robbery, though he said he did so for a coworker Glenn Evans. The murder case opens in February with Judge James Gaffney presiding.
