Soil Is Key To Future Says Wolfe In Linn County Talk
Emerson Wolfe of Marion, a district SCS conservationist, told Linn county young married folks at the Roosevelt hotel that America's future lies in soil. He urged a three dimensional farm appraisal focusing on soil depth, not just acreage, and noted price per acre isn't a measure of soil quality. Wolfe illustrated his talk with Holland and Asia photos from his tank corps service. Forty couples attended the dinner organized by Marion and Cedar Rapids hosts. A planning committee for the February meeting of the group includes Barnehart, Booth, and Wassmer.
