Hog Prices Fall as Chicago Receipts Boost Market

Expanded hog receipts at yards spurred a mild drop in hog prices on Monday with prices slipping 25 to 50 cents from Friday. Hog trade saw 10,000 new hogs shipped, supplies tight earlier in the week, and wholesale pork strength supported some weekly gains despite volatile swings. Cattle and sheep values showed uneven movement, with steers higher early week then dull at close, while fat lambs held steady.
