Jody Matherly a former Altoona chief was sworn in at City Hall promising to work at "100 mph" to start his Iowa City tenure. The 54 year old led Flint and Grinnell police agencies before Altoona and succeeds Sam Hargadine who retired in June. He will earn 147014 this year and vows to support officers and engage with the community.
