Iowa asks constitution tweak to allow remote child testimony
The Iowa attorney general backs House Study Bill 35 to let certain child witnesses testify remotely even when facing the accused, aiming to reduce trauma and avoid forcing confrontations. A legislative hearing heard broad support from advocacy groups but some lawyers warned it could diminish the right to confront accusers. The measure moves to committee as opponents seek alternative paths.
