3-D Printed Heart Model Aids Complex Pediatric Surgery

Miami Children’s Hospital used 8-D printing to create a replica of Adaenele’s heart for planning a third open-heart operation. The model, the first regional use for a child with total anomalous pulmonary venous connection, helped surgeons place a donor heart piece and restore normal blood flow, potentially prolonging her life.
