Eight Charges Against Molden After High Speed Chase
William H. Molden, 23, of 1505 Fifth avenue SE, was arrested Friday night in Cedar Rapids on eight charges from a high speed chase. He faces three counts of disobeying a traffic signal, attempting to elude police, speeding 85 mph in a 25 zone, no driver's license, failure to have vehicle under control, and resisting an officer. He lost control in the 600 block of Eleventh avenue SE, struck a parked vehicle, fled, and was captured. Molden appeared before Judge John B. Reilly and was released on his own recognizance on seven traffic charges. bond on the resisting charge was $110. He is to return Monday at 9:30 a.m. in municipal court.

Colorado civil air patrol called off a search for a light plane missing for more than a week. The craft was piloted by Dennis Zea 29 of San Diego son of Denison Iowa residents. Zea left San Diego Jan 14 heading to Rapid City and reported low visibility from Gunnison Colorado. Believed aboard were David Browning 23 of Leonard Missouri and a Mrs. Jim Dial with a small baby.

Brown disappears before sentencing in laiscivious acts case
Martyn D. Brown pled guilty to a morals charge on December 11 and appeared in Linn district court for sentencing on Friday. He vanished as the judge and attorneys conferred in chambers after a county attorney recommended three years in prison, while the defense urged probation. A warrant was issued for his arrest as Brown had claimed he would return but did not by 5 p.m. The 31 year old was charged with lascivious acts with a child involving a 15 year old Cedar Rapids girl and had a northwest Cedar Rapids address.
