Enrollment committee shifts tone on Cedar Rapids closures
The 11 member Enrollment Impact Study Committee in Cedar Rapids backed away from closing Wilson Junior High and added McKinley Roosevelt and Jackson or Van Buren as potential closings. They also recommended moving ninth grade to senior high buildings in 1983 and identified Squaw Creek Adams Adams as possible closures with rates hinging on a middle school plan. The panel will present final recommendations Feb 9 and the school board will decide later this year.
