Plane Crash Kills Two Cedar Rapids Men
Cedar Rapids locals C Allen Fredrickson and John O St Aubin died when an Aeronca monoplane crashed at Aviation Country Club on the old Marion road shortly after 2 pm Saturday. Fredrickson was 29, St Aubin 31, both aboard with limited or student pilot credentials. Coroner Knight and Deputy Condon opened a swift inquiry as the aircraft fell about 250 feet with engine failure cited by pilot witnesses. Fredrickson, longtime Guaranty Bank and Trust official, was born in Essex Iowa. St Aubin was a salesman. The plane did not catch fire.
