West Central Blue Devils eye Upper Iowa title defense
West Central, led by longtime coach Gene Klinge, sits 11-2 at midseason and 7-0 in the Upper Iowa Conference. Shelly Simpson and Tammy Lincoln pace a quick, balanced offense as the team seeks a fourth straight state appearance amid tough conference foes and a No. 17 ranking. Urbana tops St John in Cedar 6 tourney final as Ann Kisling and Holley Harrison spark a 72-44 win. Teresa Takes nets all North Linn points in 77-35 loss to Maquoketa Valley. Valley remains No. 18 in Class IA after a 15th straight win.
