Japan forms first missile battalion to defend Tokyo
The defense agency said Japan organized its first missile battalion of 855 members to defend Tokyo and surrounding areas. It will be stationed at four Nike Ajax bases encircling Tokyo, each with nine launchers, to be completed in late March. A total of 339 officers have trained in the United States to operate the missiles.
