Rex the German Shepherd Finds a New Home in Norway

In Nuernberg Rex, a young German shepherd, is adopted by U.S. Army veteran Martyn A. Johnson after a cliffside meeting. Rex travels home aboard ship in a duffel bag, recovers in Camp Grant, and joins Johnson in Norway with his harness and play items. He bonds with Lana, Corrine Johnson’s wire fox terrier, amid a quiet postwar scene of companionship and care. Rex’s name came from a human misreading, but the dog answers to it now.
