Off the Map Farm doubles as supply business
Stan and Jean Potratz built Premier 1 Supplies from a backyard sheep venture in Washington Iowa after finding a market for specialized fencing and farm equipment. They operate three catalogs, a website, and employ about 40, sourcing goods domestically and abroad after traveling annually to meet suppliers. The firm tests gear on their livestock and serves mainly U.S. customers despite some overseas sourcing.
