Beat poet Gregory Corso dies at 70 in Minneapolis

Gregory Corso, a central figure in the Beat circle with Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac, died of cancer at age 70. He had prostate cancer and had lived with his daughter Sheri Langerman since September. Born in Greenwich Village, Corso authored or co authored more than 20 poetry collections. Ginsberg discovered him in the 1950s and published his first poems in 1955.
