Pair of convicts escape Oklahoma death-row prison

Two inmates James Robert Thomas and Willie Lee Hoffman escaped Oklahoma State Penitentiary by removing toilets, crawling through an air duct, scaling razor-wired fences, and fleeing in a stolen car. A third inmate attempted escape but was caught. Thomas had prior murder and rape convictions. Hoffman faced kidnapping charges.
