Iowa medical residents stay in state at record rate

About 69 percent of University of Iowa family practice residents graduating last June remained in Iowa, the highest retention in the program’s history. The statewide training program sent 51 graduates last year, 35 stayed in Iowa, many in smaller communities. In total 410 graduates now practice in Iowa, about 59 percent.
