Plan for Racial Balance At Tyler Elementary
Cedar Rapids Community School Board reviewed a plan under the Emergency School Aid Act to reduce Tyler Elementary's minority share by expanding enrollment from 290 to about 450, with no large-scale cross-town busing. Proposals include boundary changes, program transfers, and new alternate programs, aiming for 35 percent minority enrollment by fall 1973 and 29 percent by fall 1974, with Title VII funding considerations and community input meetings planned.
