North Liberty Council Adopts 40 MPH On Scales Bend Road
The North Liberty City Council unanimously lowers the Scales Bend Road speed limit to 40 mph from Highway 965 to city limits and orders a traffic study. Outside the city limits the limit remains 55 mph for a short stretch, then 35 mph along the winding 2.2 mile route to Jolly Roger Campground. Sheriff Pulkrabek backs a uniform limit and urges County agreement. Over 100 homeowners signed Fox Run residents' petition. City Administrator Brian James will discuss with the Johnson County Board of Supervisors.
