NFO Plans Grain Shipment to Gulf
The Iowa branch of the National Farmers Organization said it will ship several truckloads of grain from Seneca Illinois down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico for export. State president Clarence Schuchmann said the move aims to draw attention to Iowa’s low grain prices, noting beans at 2.80 and corn around 1.37 per bushel. He cautioned it may escalate to a broader action if needed.
