The Iowa Community AIDS Partnership announced its ninth grant round totaling $48,200 to six non profit groups in Johnson Linn and Black Hawk counties. Recipients include Rapids AIDS Project $10,900 for living assistance and $1,000 for youth HIV prevention training, Black Hawk County Health Department $2,000 for prevention outreach, Johnson County Public Health $5,000 for harm reduction and $2,500 for Phone Eze, Planned Parenthood East Central Iowa $1,500 for youth HIV testing and $6,000 for adult testing plus $800 for staff training, Iowa Center for AIDS Resources and Education $8,900 for case management, and Cedar AIDS Support System $9,600 for housing assistance. Funding from local donors National AIDS Fund Elton John AIDS Foundation. The partnership is convened by The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation. United Way of East Central Iowa invites letters of intent by noon Feb 2 for Time Limited Grants.
