Branstad Presses Education Focus in State Salary Plan
Gov. Terry Branstad outlines the 15th Condition of the State focusing on education with more than 121 million dollars in new funding for the next fiscal year. He urges early childhood outreach, teacher qualifications, all day kindergarten, year round school and stronger school accountability to parents. The plan also promotes value added agriculture, pension tax elimination, capital punishment reinstitution, anti drug education, drug testing, tax rights amendment, stricter penalties for methamphetamine, and prison expansion with chemical castration for predators.
