Brainstorm by Carlton Brown reviewed with focus on Mike Kelly
A critical reading of Carlton Brown’s Brainstorm portrays Mike Kelly as a flawed hero whose life spirals from stable youth to hospital confinement. The review notes the novel’s swift, vivid depiction of mental illness, its hospital reform themes, and Brown’s first person narrative detailing a chaotic path from delusion to a fragile return to reality.
