Cedar Rapids eyes riverfront amphitheater or ice rink funding

The Cedar Rapids City Council plans to seek a state RECAT grant in March to cover up to 20 percent of project costs for either a 4 million riverfront amphitheater or a 2.8 million May's Island ice rink and fountain, or both. Design would begin in July with completion about two years later. The city will apply with county government assistance.
