Obama penny coming to .C. in Iowa City

Iowa City Public Library to install a penny-smasher design featuring Barack Obama and the word Obama to mark the presidential inauguration and Lincoln’s 200th birthday. Apple Creek Publishing provided the idea and local artist Doug Knutson created the design. The machine, costing 51 cents per imprint, should be in place this week.

Preventing colds tied to sleep duration says study

Research shows eight hours of sleep lowers cold risk. Healthy adults exposed to a rhinovirus were far less likely to develop illness if they slept eight hours nightly versus under seven. Lead author Sheldon Cohen of Carnegie Mellon notes longer sleep improves immunity.
