The Cedar Rapids board of adjustment approved waivers to bypass 100 foot depth rules for two lot redivisions at 209 Eighteenth Ave SW and 1800 Second St SW and at 704 Thirty-second St NE and 3212 Faye NE. Andrew Van Vleck and Frank Novak received permissions to split lots, while John R. Froehle was authorized a reduced setback and overhang for a new house at 2824 Hill Haven St SE. The board re elected Donald Dodge as chairman and Ernest Gumdling as vice chairman for 1959 with Ira Brooks Ray Hertz and Carl Bock as members.
