Roosevelt warns of labor unrest if price bill passes
President Roosevelt told five House Banking Committee members that Senate farm bloc amendments to the price control bill could provoke renewed labor unrest that would hinder the war effort. He warned that a 25 percent farm price rise would lift the cost of living and trigger wage demands or strikes, influencing conference negotiations between House and Senate.
