Terex Relocates 35 Cedar Rapids Staff to The Fountains
Terex Corp signs a multiyear lease to move 35 local employees from 909 17th St NE to The Fountains in northeast Cedar Rapids this spring. The space will house engineering design, parts, and sales support staff in a 8,637-square-foot, class A facility on the first floor. Terex expects to take possession around March 1 and does not plan near-term hires. The Fountains is a mixed use center with restaurants, fitness, spa, and retail.

Former Cedar Rapids worker to be sentenced in shotgun case
Russell J. Howard, 42, of Marion, pleaded guilty to unauthorized possession of an offensive weapon and carrying weapons. He faces sentencing February 13 after a Aug 23, 2017 incident at the City Services Center where he entered armed with a shotgun, prompting evacuations and a police response. He was hospitalized, arrested upon discharge, and fired by the city.

Soules seeks dismissal again in fatal hit and run case
Chris Soules lawyers renew motion to dismiss the felony leaving the scene charge in the April crash that killed Kenneth Mosher. They argue Iowa Code 321.263(2) is ambiguous and favor the defendant. Prosecutors say Soules left the scene and later refused to exit his home until a warrant. Trial date moved. next hearing set for January 29 with a May 7 trial bound.
