The Supreme Court declined to reinstate Florida's age based death penalty for sex crimes against children under 12. It also agreed to study Idaho's public nuisance law allowing closure of theaters or stores selling obscene material for a year.
A 5.5 magnitude quake rattled New England as a third aftershock from a weekend tremor. No damage or injuries were reported though experts warn on the potential for harm in inhabited areas. The quakes centered near Grand Falls New Brunswick near the Maine border.
