Western Cattlemen Criticize OPA Subsidies and Price Control
At the American National Livestock association convention in Denver, cattlemen led by A D Brownfield of Deming NM condemned OPA price directives as a subsidy substitute for an equitable price ceiling. They pledged to push for subsidy removal and object to raising the ceiling from 18 to 1750 on July 2 while calling for prudence as price controls ease.
