911 mix up blamed for two minute report of Bowman Woods fire
A Bowman Woods resident waited nearly two minutes to report a garage fire as a malfunction in the 911 transfer system delayed Cedar Rapids police and fire response. The fire gutted a van and a car. Cedar Rapids Fire Department arrived eight minutes after the call.

Eight charges filed after Cedar Rapids car chase
A high speed chase through Cedar Rapids led to eight traffic charges and three burglary counts against Maurice Wilson 33 with ties to Iowa City and Oxford.
