Neighbor attacks Chestnut Lane rezoning at public hearing
Cedar Rapids City Council held five hearings on rezonings. Chestnut Lane Inc seeks to rezone land east of Weing Road NE and north of Shaver Park from R-2 to PUD to build 22 condominiums. Neighbor Carl Berstler petitioned against it, citing easement access and fit with the area. Mayor Canney said a decision would come in one to two weeks. Other petitions included cases for I-380 and Highway 84, Eighth Ave SW, McCloud Drive NE, and Third Ave SE.
