Cedar Rapids NICU gains status with new Ohio heater beds
Mark and Deborah Hess celebrate Christmas with three month old Melissa at home after birth at St. Luke's Hospital. Melissa weighed 885 grams at birth. Since 1977 Cedar Rapids high risk infants have largely stayed in town for care at St. Luke's NICU, now aided by Ohio heater beds that keep babies warm and allow doctors more access to work with the infant.
