Heaviest tiling season hits Eastern Iowa farms
In November and December 1965 wet weather and looming Agricultural Conservation Program payments pushed tiling work to a peak. William Jasper of Dyersville reported three machines operating nonstop, tiling a 340 acre Monticello area farm for Roy A. Miller, with 1 600 feet of eight inch tile and 11 000 feet of five inch laterals on a 25 acre plot. Miller plans to expand to a 240 acre field and cooperates with Linn county soil conservation district for technical help.
