220 year old Boston time capsule unearthed from State House
A corroded brass box from 1795 beneath Boston's State House was opened at the Museum of Fine Arts. Items include a 1652 Pine Tree Shilling, a George Washington medal, a Revere silver plate, colonial records and newspapers. The capsule, placed for America’s 20th anniversary, was last opened in 1855 and predates a lion statue capsule found last year.
