Chicago brokers on the commodity exchanges foresee prices dropping further with futures for butter at 53 cents a pound for June delivery, down about 22 cents from current wholesale levels. Wheat and other grains show similar declines for later months, while eggs and coffee futures also indicate lower distant deliveries.
William P. Comstock 69 of Atkins died in a two vehicle crash at a county road and Red Ball highway junction three miles west of Cedar Rapids at 7 30 a m Thursday. His wife Mrs Comstock 63 injured along with Robert N Wieneke 24 of near Palo who also suffered injuries. Mrs Comstock listed in fair condition at St Luke's hospital Wieneke in fair condition at Mercy hospital. The crash marked Linn county's first traffic death of 1947.
