Winter pressures boost domestic violence and shelter strain
The Attorney General divides Iowa into six regions to fund 1–2 domestic violence and 1–2 sexual assault programs and shelters per region. Iowa City program faces 24 percent cuts, prompting coordination efforts amid fears some victims may be unreachable during winter and summer peaks.
