GOP proposes tax waiver to spur land development

Des Moines Gazette reports House Republicans want 11 renaissance zones in Iowa offering up to 15 years of tax relief to lure development in blighted rural and urban areas. Eligible zones cover up to 3 000 acres with six rural and five urban sites designated by the Economic Development Board.
