The French tanker Betelgeuse exploded while unloading at Whiddy Island Bantry Bay causing massive fire. Police confirm 42 crew aboard and 49 feared dead with three crew and seven workers among the charred casualties. Firefighting units contained the blaze six hours after the blast.
