Preservation C R s White Elephant to get facelift in Cedar Rapids
Cedar Rapids revival of the White Elephant progresses toward a mid year turnaround. Beth DeBoom plans a ground breaking after February 1 at 1305 Third St SE with temporary relocation of the building to 1312 Second St SE and aims to finish renovations that restore a 1,224 square foot main space and add 241 square feet. The project hinges on grants including 75,000 from Main Street Iowa with a 276,810 match, potential historic credits, and a 2,600 Czech Village grant.
